Toronto Racial Equity in Education Forum

On October 7th 2020, UARR hosted the Toronto region Racial Equity in Education Forum. This event was the first of four round table discussions that brought together educators, activists, parents/guardians, students and all members of the community who wanted to engage in an open dialogue about the unique systemic challenges racialized students continue to encounter in our schools.

This event focused on the Toronto region, opening up an honest conversation about racism in these educational institutions. The conversation aimed to collectively identify a few key recommendations for systemic change within the school boards that can result in better educational opportunities and outcomes for all our children especially our Indigenous, Black and other racialized children in the system!
